Catarina Gonzales Uvalle

Catarina Gonzales Uvalle, 81 years of age, passed away on December 1, 2024 at Methodist Metropolitan Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Dilley, TX to parents David Gonzales Sr. and Tiburcia Garcia Gonzales and was the beloved spouse of Mario Uvalle Sr. for 64 years. On December 13, 2024 they would have celebrated 65 years together. Catarina and Mario were joined together in matrimony on December 13, 1959.

Catarina Gonzales Uvalle is survived by her children Jesusa U. Torres (Felix Torres), Fransisca U. Leal ( Late Eduardo R. Leal), Olivia Uvalle, Mario Uvalle Jr., and is survived by her beloved Mario Uvalle Sr. Catarina is survived by her siblings David Gonzales Jr. and Domingo Gonzales. Catarina is lastly survived by her five grandchildren and one great grandchild plus one on the way, along with several nieces and nephews.

Catarina is preceded in death by her parents David and Tiburcia Gonzales, Her brothers and sister Lucio Gonzales, Paulino Gonzales, Marcelina Gonzales Cantu, as well as son-in- law Eduardo R. Leal.

She was a loving housewife and mother. She was always passionate about the outdoors. Loving and caring for her plants and chickens along with her two dogs. Plants were her favorite hobby most of all. She loved caring for her plants and watering them daily. She enjoyed and loved looking at all the birds in her home garden as well. Red cardinals were her favorite. When she wasn't gardening , you could find her in her sewing room, sewing beautiful clothes and quilts for her family. 

She loved to do arts and crafts to share with her loved ones. When she would sit and rest, she would watch T.V. She loved watching YouTube, so that way she could see other parts of the world from the comfort of her home. She was an amazing cook and would prepare many wonderful meals for her family. She always thought of others first and was always there for her children and spouse. 

She would give advice when needed and she would listen with love and care, always. She was our rock to lean on and she would always lift us up no matter what the situation was. She believed in God and in our lord and savior Jesus Christ. She would always give us her blessing and ask that our lord would protect and guide our steps in this life. She loved us with all of her heart and soul, and we know she is with us wherever we may go. 

We will see you again someday Mom. You are, and have always been our greatest treasure. Amen.

there will be a memorial service for Catarina on December 20, 2024 from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. at Primrose Funeral services in Pearsall, Texas. A rosary will be recited at 1:45 P.M. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
