Beloved husband, father, brother, papa, son and friend, Darrell DeWayne Scraper of Somerset, Texas went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2021, at the age of 66. Darrell was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on January 23, 1955, to John H. and Edith Scraper. He is preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Edith Scraper, Twin brother, Lawrence (Larry) and Niece, Chelsey. Darrell is survived by his wife of almost 14 years Monica Scraper; children, Darrell Jr. (Cathy), Steven, Shelby, Sean, Matthew Gravlin, Rebecca (Matt) Janzig and Chrystal Spitalsky; 11 grandchildren; his sisters, Dineen (Mike) Wiechert and Sheila Rawlings. Darrell joined the Southwest Volunteer Fire Department when he was in High School and re-joined from2002-2006. He was also with Sandy Oaks Fire Department. Darrell was in the Army for 26 years; he served his country honorably. He was Military Police for many of these years and ended his career in Aviation, which was his favorite part. He met his wife in 2005, while they were working a car accident and they were in 2 different fire departments. While working a major fire, Monica joined Southwest Fire Department, where their romance blossomed. They were married in 2007 and had a loving marriage, together for 16 years. He is listed on the Cherokee Roll and was extremely proud of his Native American Heritage. Darrell loved doing many things and always making memories: Like helping daughters, Rebecca, and Chrystal, make trouble for their mother. Working with daughter, Rebecca at the fire department. Motorcycle rides with daughter, Chrystal, and his wife Monica on scenic backroads. Cuddling on the bed and sneaking snacks to his grandchildren before bed. Traveling the country from one side of the U. S. to the other with granddaughter, Cheyleen and dad, John. Branson, Missouri was one of their favorite places. Rough housing with his dog, Bear.
