Eddie Bramhall, age 75, passed away Sunday, October 4th, 2020, in Kilgore, Texas. He was born in Cooper, Texas on August 13th, 1945. He liked to brag and say he was the last baby born during WWII because that was the day the peace treaty was signed. Above all, he was known for his quick wit and wonderful gift of storytelling. He was a man who faithfully served others - his family, his church, his community, and his country. At the age of 17, he married the love of his life Sue Thompson and joined the army. At 20 years old, he served in Vietnam where he spent his 21st birthday. After leaving the army, he joined the San Antonio Fire Department where he served 33 years. He worked in the shops, fire prevention, training, and multiple firehouses. He served in his church as a Sunday school teacher, greeter, and was very active in VBS. When his daughters were in school, he served as the Warhorse football announcer, president of the PTA as well as the president of the Band Boosters. When he was not serving, he loved being with his friends and family. Eddie also had a passion for teaching. He taught at the SAC fire academy for years as well as Texas A & M fire school for many summers. He taught hundreds if not thousands of young men and women not only how to be a great firefighter, but how to love the job they were called to do. He was a founding member of the Charlie’s II Think Tank where they talked over all the important decisions facing the old men of Devine. He is survived by his wife, Sue Bramhall; daughter, Edie (Kade) Miller; Grandkids, Draye Bramhall-Miller, and Sidney Miller; sister, Marilyn (JayEll) Wingo, brother, Tommy (Debbie) Bramhall; and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his daughter, Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Bramhall.
