Francis Dwayne Heckart was a veteran of twenty-three years in the United States Military, serving first in the US Navy and retiring from the US Air Force. Upon retirement Francis and his family live in Rockledge, FL., where he continued his education at Florida Technological University in Orlando, FL. Having work for another eighteen years, he retired from Time Warner Communications. He and his wife, Marilyn, resettled to acreage outside of Natalia, Tx. He was a student of the Civil War and loved researching his family genealogy. Francis is survived by his three daughters, Sheryl J. Skufca (Thomas), Barbara A. Lite (Timothy), and Patricia D. McBride (Michael); brother, Robert S. Heckart; sister, Lona Hunt; five grandchildren, Lauri Alphonso, Timothy Lite, II, Aaron Skufca, Eric Skufca, Kathleen McBride; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor Villarreal, Reagan Martin and Madison Alphonso. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home, 14822 North Main, Lytle, Texas 78052. He will be interned with his wife, in section 132, Site, 481, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 9:00 am.
