Gerald R Lira

Gerald Rene Lira Sr. left his earthly habitation Saturday, May 2, 2020.  "To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."

July 1984 he was called to preach the Gospel for 36 years.  A Certified Auto Mechanic for more than 30 years and a licensed AP Airplane Mechanic for United Airlines and Boeing. 

Gerald enjoyed horses, fishing, cards, billiards, horseshoes, Western, grilling, interacting with the youth, friends and family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Theodoro G. Lira and Mary Beth Guerra Lira.  He is survived by his brothers Theodoro G. Lira Jr. and wife Santos Irene Lira, Lawrence D. Lira, sister, Sandra R. Lira and his wife of 45 years, Nanette (Schuchardt) Lira.  He also leaves behind, daughter, Lisa Marie Lira and Jeffrey; sons, Sean Rene Lira and Deanna, Gerald Rene Lira Jr. and Janie as well as 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins in Arizona, California and Texas.  Jerry Loved you all!

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020, at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Lytle, Texas from 2:00 pm to 5:00 p.m.  Anyone wishing to leave condolences for the family may do so at www.hurleyfuneralhome.com.
