Gilbert "Pete" A. Clawson

Gilbert A. "Pete" Clawson age 88 of Devine, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2023. He was born in Austin, Texas and made his life in Devine where he was a Master Carpenter and for many years and owned his own construction company. He has worked on many of the buildings and homes in the Devine and surrounding areas. He also loved to hunt and fish and taught his daughters to as well.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Annie R. "Sissy" Clawson. His daughters Jennifer L. Clawson of Devine and Sherry A. Clawson Hebert (Reed) of Poteet. Grandchildren Kellen A. Nixon (Lindsey) and Shay Lyn Burwell (Trystin) and two great-grandchildren Jolene and Jhett and brother James "Jim" Clawson (Georganna) of Georgetown and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Mary Clawson and daughter Connie L. Nixon (Alvin).

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Primrose Funeral Services Chapel, Devine. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, 10:00 A.M. First Baptist Church of Devine with interment to follow in Evergreen cemetery.
