Gipsy Williams
February 8, 1928 – January 06, 2021
One month short of being 93 years old.
Born in Maydelle, Texas to Grady and Rose Watson, who were farmers.
Gipsy came to San Antonio when she was 14 years old, she met her husband, J.D. Williams, when she was 17 years old. He joined the Navy and Gipsy began to work at the San Antonio State Hospital where both her parents worked. When J.D. was released from the Navy, they eloped and got married in Seguin, Texas at the age of 18 years old, Granny and Grandpa Watson were “not happy”. They were married 70 years before J.D. passed away in 2016.
They raised 3 children, a son, and 2 daughters, (Jim, Connie, and Debbie). There are also 8 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The family gatherings were always so much fun. Gipsy was always kind, loved her family, and her dogs. There’s peace in knowing she was a Christian and is now with our Lord Jesus in Heaven
