HELEN M. MANN GEYER IVEY


Helen went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. She passed away peacefully at home. She was born March 13, 1928 on East Crockett Street in San Antonio, Texas. When she was almost four years old her parents moved to a farm near Poteet, Texas. She attended Ditto School from the first through the eighth grade. Then, she went to Poteet High School and graduated in 1947. 

She married Edmund F. Geyer, Jr. in 1947 and moved to the Goldfinch Community. In 1955 they moved near Moore where she lived most of her life. 

After the passing of her first husband, Edmund F. Geyer, Jr., she married William B. Ivey, a long time family friend, in 1989. She then moved to Winters, Texas where she lived for 19 years. After the passing of William Ivey, she moved back to her home near Moore to be near her children. 

Helen was the 4 H Food Project Leader and Clothing Project Leader for 22 years and the 4 H Organizer Leader for the Moore 4 H Club for 9 years. She worked for the Pearsall Independent School District for 16 years in various capacities. 

In 1952 she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and taught the Primary Sunday School Class for many years and was an avid reader of her Bible.  

She was a great cook and will be remembered for her Molasses Cookies.  Helen especially enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family. 

In her latter years she started quilting and made a quilt for each of her 11 grandchildren and 3 living children and her daughter-in-law. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, August Joseph Mann, Jr. and Martha Clara Katcsmorak Mann; two brothers, Walter Joseph Mann and Johnnie Lewis Mann; a son, Leonard Ivan Geyer, Sr.; a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Faith Geyer; and, two husbands, Edmund F. Geyer, Jr. and William B. Ivey. 

Helen is survived by three of her children: Margaret Geyer Grammer, Donald L. Geyer, Sr. (Loretta), and Edmund F. Geyer, III (Annetta); a daughter-in-law, Gail Geyer Naegelin; eleven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 10th from 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. at Primrose Funeral Services Chapel in Pearsall, TX. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. and interment will follow in the Moore Memorial Cemetery.
