Helen Elizabeth Lindsey, age 96 stepped into heaven on May 2, 2021, in Carrollton, Texas.
She was born on August 8, 1924, in Charlotte, Texas. Preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Elmer Woods Lindsey; son Stanley Woods Lindsey; grandson Sheldon Neil; parents Charlie and Adella (Fischer) Rosenauer; brothers Johnnie Lee, and Charles Edward.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Sue and her husband Berle Barnett of McKinney, Texas; grandson Jason Wayne Barnett and Adam Grinage of Lewisville, Texas; Granddaughter Pamela Renee Clapp, and husband Jason; great-granddaughters Taylor Lindsey, and Kelsey Morgan of Frisco, Texas; sister Betty Louise Anderson of San Antonio, Texas and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Helen loved her family and was a devoted friend to many. She and Elmer raised their family in San Antonio, Texas. They were members of South San Antonio Baptist Church for many years.
After Elmer’s retirement, they moved to Pearsall, Texas. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Pearsall, Texas for 21 years. She served on the kitchen committee, worked in VBS, and was a member of the Ladies Bible Class and the “Road Runner” senior group.
Liz, as she was known by most, had a love for birds and butterflies. She cared for and raised many baby doves that fell from the nests in her yard. She loved cooking, sewing, quilting, embroidery, dominoes, hunting, and fishing.
Moved to McKinney, TX in 2014 to be near their daughter and enjoyed living at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community. Her biggest joy was seeing their grandchildren and great-granddaughters come to know the Lord.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 7, 2021, from 2 pm to 9 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church Pearsall, on 204 S. Walnut Street, Pearsall, TX 78061 on May 8, 2021, at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Pearsall Cemetery, Hwy. 140.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to First Baptist Church in her memory. Due to COVID19 restrictions, the family has asked that masks be worn.
