Hilaria Padilla

It is with deep sadness, and much regret that we announce the passing of Hilaria Gutierrez Padilla, affectionately known as "Mom" a lifelong resident of Pearsall, Texas on Friday, June 02, 2023, at the age of 96 years.

She was born on October 21, 1926, in Adkins, Texas, to her proud parents, Gerardo and Tomasita Gutierrez.

Mom, married the love of her life, Bruno Padilla in 1952, and is preceded in death by her infant son, Bruno, Jr., her husband Bruno, Sr., her parents, and all her siblings: Marcos, Silvestre, Ascension, Evaristo, Filomena Casillas, Eugenia Coronado, Clemencia Valle, Maria Trinidad Gutierrez. 

She is survived by her son, Lupe (Cindy), daughters, Norma Galindo, Alice Padilla, Elizabeth Padilla. 

Grandchildren: Jennifer Lee, Jacqueline Hillary, and Bruno.

Billie Jean, Ruben, David, and many cherished great grandchildren.

Indeed, Mom was an exceptional cook, talented gardener, and excelled at word searches. In her leisure time, she very rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune! Her red time-worn, Bible was a testament to her unwavering devotion to God, and keen understanding of its teachings, and she spent her entire life to being a faithful servant. 

Mom, was every good word in the dictionary: kind, loving, and unconditional, who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was the beautiful melody in the rhythm of our lives. 

Rest in peace, Mom. Your memory is forever etched in the hearts of those who loved you.

A visitation will be on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Primrose Funeral Services in Pearsall, Texas. A chapel service will be on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Primrose Funeral Services in Pearsall with interment to follow in Frio County Cemetery.
