Irene Guzman Medrano was born in Lytle, Texas, on July 19, 1935, to Antonio and Cecilia (Maldonado) Guzman. Irene better known as “Nena” was a great cook and loved to crochet. She was a wonderful seamstress that made most of her children’s clothing growing up. She dabbled in woodcraft and loved to dance. She was married to her late husband, Pablo Medrano, Jr., for 68 years. Together they raised five children. She was a very strong-willed, God loving woman, who loved to read her Bible. Irene is proceeded in death by her husband, Pablo Medrano, Jr., parents, Antoni, and Cecilia Guzman; sister, Anita G. Esquivel; brother, Samuel Guzman and Enrique Guzman. She is survived by sons, Robert Medrano, Sr., Ray Medrano, Sr. (wife Stella), and Roy Medrano (wife Denise); daughters, Rose Mary Davila (Albert) and Letty Carrasco (husband Richard); grandchildren: Jennifer M. Guyton (husband Jim), Robert Medrano, Jr. (wife Valerie), Ray Medrano, Jr. (wife Lynn), Crystal Carrasco, Desiree Boyer (husband Chris), Justin Carrasco (wife Chelsea), Beverly Ann Medrano (partner Kevin) Jasmin Medrano, Miranda Santos, Roy Paul “Rj” Medrano, great-grandchildren: Joshua Garza, Samantha Garza, Alex Garza, Ephany Medrano, Elizabeth Medrano, Anthony Garcia, Jaxon Garcia, Makayla Medrano, Jacob Medrano, Justin Medrano, Jr., Robbie Ochoa, Zoey Ochoa, and Joshua Ochoa, and great-great-grandchild, Nicholas Garza. Visitation will be Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 8:15 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 9:00 a.m., in the chapel of Hurley Funeral Home-Lytle, before laying Irene to rest at Concepcion Cemetery in Cole Mine, TX.
