James Cosby White, 70, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30th, 2025, at his home in Pearsall, Tx.
James was born December 25th, 1954, in Beeville, Tx to James and Mary White. James loved to go to Colin Street Bakery in Corsicana when he took road trips to see his cousin Buzz and family in Dallas.
James graduated from Cotulla High School where he would find himself later returning as a high school special education teacher for several years. In 1977, James graduated from Texas State University, then known as Southwest Texas State, with a degree in History and a minor in Theatre. He then obtained his Masters in Administration from Sull Ross State University and his Certification for School Superintendent. Later, he earned his Special Education and Diagnostician Certifications as well. He taught in several schools across South Texas for over 40 years. In retirement, he finished his career helping Ted Flores Elementary as a Special Education teacher.
James married Ana White on August 12, 1988, in her hometown in Peru. James and Ana were lifelong companions and friends who often enjoyed traveling and exchanging stories daily about their shared careers as teachers. Ana said she felt James was her mentor and best friend.
James has two children, James White (Jr) and Louana Paddock who is married to Joey Paddock. James adored his two children and was proud to see them each go to college and later get their masters. His daughter shared the experience of attending graduate school at Texas State University (James' alma-mater).
James' cared deeply for his pets at home and each one of his students at work. He and his wife would often visit their children in College Station and Katy where he enjoyed joking with them, watching movies together, playing Uno together, and always supporting his children as they grew. James was also a proud born-again Christian.
James is survived by his wife, Ana White, and his children James Carlos White and Louana (White) Paddock.
James will always be known as a kind and tender hearted man who was always ready to help anyone in need even if he just met them.
A Visitation will be held in his honor on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at First Baptist Church in Pearsall. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church in Pearsall. Interment to follow at Pearsall Cemetery.
His favorite flowers were sunflowers, and he loved to buy his wife red roses.
