James Leroy Wilson, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully September 27, 2019 in San Antonio, at the age of 93.
James was born December 14, 1925 in Miles, TX to Jesse Leroy and Ruby Jewel (Longley) Wilson, both who precede him.
On April 7, 1951 he married Jean Boyd at the Bigfoot Church of Christ. Jean preceded him on May 23, 2019.
He is preceded by his wife, Jean; parents Jesse and Ruby Wilson; son, Steve; brother Ivan; and sister, Jessie Harvey.
James started his 79 years of ministry at the Cuero Church of Christ and for over 45 years ministered the Gospel at the Bigfoot Church of Christ in Bigfoot.
He retired after 25 years of service at the Gaylord Container Corporation in San Antonio, as the finishing and shipping supervisor.
James is survived by his loving family; daughter, Debbie and husband Paul Woerner; sons, Glenn and wife Sherry and Jeffrey; brother, Pete and wife Mattie; twelve grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine.
Chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine, with interment to follow in the Longview Cemetery in Bigfoot.
