Jesse Peralez, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and cherished friend to many who knew him entered eternal rest on January 31, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 70.
He was born on January 8, 1955, in Houston, Texas to parents Esubio “Jesse” Peralez and Elodia Peralez. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, son Jay Peralez, brother Louis Peralez, brother Nicholas Peralez. Grandparents Marcos Peralez, Guadelupe Peralez, Nicholas Garza, Mary Garza.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jane Camacho, son Issac (Beatrice) Peralez, daughter Melissa Peralez, daughter LeAndra (Eric) LaMascus, son Brandon Peralez, stepchildren Ashley Martinez, Jordan Martinez and Stephanie Espinoza. Grandchildren Dylan Peralez, Brendan Peralez, Adalie Peralez, Hadley Peralez, Olivia LaMascus, Baby LaMascus, Aiden Espinoza, Emmalee Espinoza, Wyatt Belor, Avery Garza, Javeris Kowalik and Luka Garza. brothers Ricky Peralez, Marcus Peralez, Joe Peralez and David Peralez.
Jesse's extraordinary personality facilitated effortless connections with others, fostering meaningful relationships. His generosity, kindness, and vast heart had a profound impact on those around him. As a mentor, educator, and nurturer, Jesse's charismatic nature inherently drew people in. Although he may not have fully comprehended the extent of his influence on the music industry, his legacy is undeniable. As a distinguished musician, Jesse's proficiency on the tenor and alto saxophone led to collaborations with numerous prominent figures in the music world. His involvement with legendary bands such as La Mafia, Xelencia, and Magnifico 7, among others, is particularly noteworthy. Having performed, recorded, and toured with hundreds of musicians and bands, Jesse created a unique sound that inspired a multitude of artists. Additionally, his talent exceeded mere performance, as he crafted music that pushed the boundaries of traditional Tejano sounds through his songwriting and vocals.
Jesse's accomplishments serve as a testament to his remarkable life, and his family is a proud reflection of his achievements. Jesse was inducted into Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame in 2014, He received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Guadalupe Productions Awards in 2021, Horn player of the year 2020, Guadalupe Productions, Tejano Legends Houston official 2024 - which was archived at the University of Houston just to name a few.
Caring for others was Jesse's true ... calling, and his exceptional talent for calming nerves and fears served him well in his role as a dental technician. After retiring, Jesse devoted himself to pursuing his long-held aspirations, ultimately releasing his first CD, 'Solamente,' as a solo artist. His music, family, friends, and fans around the world continue to celebrate his legacy. Though Jesse may be gone, his impact remains.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Primrose Funeral Services, 14822 Main Street, Lytle, Texas, 78052. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 108 S. Washington Dr., Devine, Texas, 78016 with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Devine, Texas.
