Joe "Jody" Ornelas III

Joe "Jody" Ornelas III, age 53, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2025. We will miss him dearly and he will always be remembered for his generosity, cheerful personality and love of life attitude. 

As a child, Jody grew up in Devine, New Mexico, and Colorado before returning back to the Devine area during his middle school years. He graduated from Devine High School in 1989 and attended college at the University of Texas in Austin. He graduated from UT in 1994 and quickly became a lifelong Texas Longhorn. Over the years, he rarely missed a home game, and was in attendance when UT won the National Championship beating USC at the Rose Bowl. He was employed by Output Management Group for over 10 years and worked closely with longtime friends, Matt Moylan, and Stephen Ciosek. 

Jody had a love of the outdoors, all things related to the Longhorns, and his beloved car club (Alamo City Rods). He joined the car club in 2012 and thus began an adventure filled with car shows, charity events, competitions, and lifelong friendships. He took pride in his vehicles and enjoyed the time and dedication it took to maintain their beauty and classic look. 

He is survived by his sister, Stacy Ornelas Hajduk and her husband Tony, nephew, Ethan Hajduk and his wife Marina, and niece, Erika Hajduk. Jody is preceded in death by his parents; Joe Ornelas, Jr. and Linda Rendon Ornelas.

A Visitation will be held in his honor at Primrose Funeral Services Chapel in Pearsall, Texas on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall, Texas on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. He will be laid to rest at Longview Cemetery in Bigfoot, Texas.
