Jose Luis Martinez

Jose Luis Martinez, loving husband and father, entered into his eternal rest on Thursday, April 16, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 82.  Jose Luis was born on October 21, 1937 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jose and Estefana Martinez.

In his youth, Jose Luis' baseball talent was recognized by many Mexican American leagues of South Texas desiring to draft him and connecting JL to what began his 38-year cattle hauling business, J.L. & Sons, Inc. where he was lovingly known as "Mexican Joe".  

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Avelina M. Martinez.  He is survived by his wife Carmen and his nine children, Rosa Nelly, Javier, Armando, Jose Francisco, Diana, Angie, Nelly, Edward and Linda.  He is also survived by his brothers and sisters and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, services for Jose Luis are private and will be held Monday, April 20, 2020.
