Joyce E. Crutchfield, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2025, at the age of 101. Born on September 2, 1923, in Devine, Texas, her life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and dedication to the Lord.
Joyce devoted her life to nurturing her family and shared her gifts with the community as a beauty consultant with Merle Norman Cosmetics, where she inspired countless individuals with her passion for beauty and self-care. A steadfast presence in the lives of her loved ones, she was known for her compassionate spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her warmth and kindness resonated throughout her life and she embraced-wife to Ira Crutchfield, mother to Janet Flory, and Joan Powe.
As a Sunday School teacher, Joyce instilled values of compassion and faith in the hearts of many, creating a legacy of love and understanding. Her home was a sanctuary of laughter and wisdom, where generations gathered, enriched by her gentle spirit.
Joyce will be remembered not just for her accomplishments but for the profound love she shared. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her remarkable life in a funeral service at the First Baptist Church of Devine on February 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Visitation to start at 1:00 P.M. with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence G. Evans and Margaret Meister Evans; beloved husband of 64 years Ira W. Crutchfield; daughter Joan Powe; siblings Mary D. Brown, Kathryn Lindsey, Lawrence G. Evans, Jr., Connie Willis; grandson John Powe. She is survived by her daughter Janet Flory and husband Henry; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
