Kathleen (Kay) Davis Redus, of Devine, went to be with her Lord on July 25, 2020, at the age of 88. Kay was born on August 23, 1931 in Laredo, Texas. She attended Martin High School in Laredo and was active in the Pep Squad and Poetry Club. Kay married her sweetheart, George Matthew Redus, on March 17th, 1951 in Laredo, Texas. Kay and George moved to Devine, Texas in 1957 and raised their family of five children. Kay was an active member of the Devine Eastern Star and was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Devine. She will be remembered fondly for being a loving wife, a nurturing Mom, and a doting grandmother. She loved gardening and garage sales, answering the phone with “Praise the Lord” and sitting as close as possible to husband George in his old Ford pickup truck as they drove around town. Kay was a beacon of light, always optimistic, and always ready and willing to serve her Lord. Kay is preceded in death by her husband George Matthew Redus, her parents Leroy and Emily Davis, her daughter Bonnie Marie Redus, and her daughter-in-law Donna Redus. She is survived by sons: George M. Redus, Jr., Clifford and wife Phyllis Redus; daughters: Kathy and husband Robbie Warner, Kitty and husband Todd Jones; grandchildren, Christopher and wife Josephine Redus, Justin and wife Katie Redus, Abbie and husband Chris Weller, Joel and wife Jasmine Warner, Emily and husband Everet Timmons, Matthew and wife Jessica Jones, George M. Redus III, Victor, and wife Alexandria Redus, and Luke Warner; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Redus, Stephen Redus, Andrew Redus, Reagan Weller, McKinley Weller, Madison Weller, Rowyn Jones, Emilia Jones, Liam Timmons, Bradley Smith, Angel Redus, and Troy Redus. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 10:00 AM at the Evergreen Cemetery in Devine Tx. Due to the new Executive Order from Governor Abbott, we are asking that everyone wear a mask or facial covering at the cemetery. We also ask that social distancing be observed.
