Leslie Gene Mayo

Leslie Gene Mayo was born July 16, 1963, to Johnny Mayo II and Opal Mae County in Pearsall, Texas.

Leslie was active as a youth.  He played and enjoyed football in high school.  After graduation, he found his niche in driving trucks!  He loved Pearsall!  He loved the outside and valued country living.  He was forever connected to that orange soil, and he never left it.    He was full of life and could be as stubborn as an old mule!  Yet, he was kind and generous. He was free-spirited and lived life on his own terms.  On July 16, 2020, he married Maria Flores and found happiness. On May 16, 2022, he left us too soon.

Leslie was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Mayo II: His mother Opal Mae County, and his brother, Jeffrey Scott Mayo.

Leslie is survived by his wife Maria Flores of San Antonio, brother, Johnny Mayo III (Dale) of Kyle, Rebecca Mayo of San Antonio; his uncle, Roosevelt County, Jr; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers will be, Johnny Mayo III, Johnny Ray Mayo, Michael Mayo, Rodney Lucio, Leroy Rodriguez, and Ricky Aguilar.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 2:00 PM till 9:00 PM at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of life will be Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Church of Christ in Pearsall with an interment to follow in the Black Cemetery in Pearsall.
