Linda Lee Davis Williams passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, peacefully in her sleep.
Linda was born March 15, 1937, in San Antonio Texas to Francys and Willson Davis Sr.
She attended Saint Mary's Hall and graduated with a major in Religious Studies from Brown University in 1959.
Linda returned to San Antonio upon graduating from Brown and started working at American Airlines where she met her future husband, Sidney Williams III. They married in 1959 and settled in San Antonio until the passing of Sid's father who was a rancher near Pearsall, Texas. They moved to the ranch where they resided for 3 years until Linda had had enough of the country life and demanded they move from the brush country into the big city of Pearsall. They built a beautiful house in Pearsall, and Linda taught Language Arts in the Pearsall ISD for 27 years. Upon retirement, she continued to correct everyone's English even while in the hospital on oxygen.
Linda was an avid bridge player and earned the Grand Life Master level. She was then referred to by her husband as "The Head Bridge Buzzard". After her retirement, she drove to San Antonio weekly to teach bridge lessons at Incarnate Word and played religiously at the San Antonio Country Club. She also swam regularly and enjoyed walking the streets of Pearsall looking for pennies.
Linda loved traveling with her husband all over the world and later embarked in owning a travel agency with him in San Antonio.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Francys Pelton Davis who passed away when Linda was 7 years old, her father, Willson Davis Sr., her brother, Willson Davis Jr., and her husband of almost 50 years, Sidney Johnston Williams III.
She is survived by her 3 children: Sidney Johnston Williams IV (Zane), Stephen Pelton Williams (Kristi), and Eleanor Davis Williams.
Nine grandchildren: Jamie Dippner (Jereme), Johnston Williams (Shyla), Jeffrey Williams, Jade Williams, Jocie Browne (Austin), Jacob Williams, Cale Williams (Katie), Addie Fluth (Kent), and Sidney Lopez-Williams. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
The family is especially grateful to Virginia Moreno who has faithfully been by her side for 4 years and who has taken such loving care of her. Linda loved Virginia so much. We are also appreciative of the exceptional care she received from Eutopia Hospice during her final days.
