Lori Michele Orr

Lori Michele Orr, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and cherished friend passed away on September 15, 2023, in Lytle, Texas. She was born on March 31, 1971, in San Antonio, Texas.

Lori will always be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, and her zest for life. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her infectious enthusiasm and unwavering love for her family and friends.

From a young age, Lori developed a passion for reading and immersed herself in the enchanting world of books. Her love for literature knew no bounds as she explored various genres and authors. She had a remarkable ability to transport herself into different worlds through the power of words.

Not only was Lori an avid reader but also a masterful player of board games. Hours spent engrossed in friendly competition brought joy to countless gatherings with loved ones. She possessed an analytical mind that excelled at strategizing and outwitting opponents.

Puzzles were another pastime that brought Lori great delight. Whether it was jigsaw puzzles or brain teasers, she found solace in their challenges. With patience and determination, she would conquer even the most perplexing puzzles.

Traveling was an adventure that Lori treasured deeply. Exploring new places near and far allowed her to soak up diverse cultures while savoring the beauty of mother nature's bounty. The memories made during these worldly adventures will forever remain etched within the hearts of those who joined her on these remarkable journeys.

Baking was yet another art form through which Lori expressed her creativity and love. Every confection she made held a little piece of her heart. Birthdays, holidays, and special occasions were made extraordinary with her homemade treats that melted in your mouth and delighted the senses.

Lori's memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Orr, who stood by her side through thick and thin, offering unwavering support and love. The bond they shared was an inspiration to all who witnessed their devotion.

Lori's mother, Joyce Burris, held a special place in her heart. Their unbreakable bond was filled with unconditional love and shared laughter. The countless memories they created together will forever be treasured.

She leaves behind her daughter, Lauren Orr (Michael Swisher), who adored Lori as both a mother and a friend. Lori's nurturing spirit shaped Lauren into the remarkable person she is today. Lori took immense pride in witnessing Lauren's growth and accomplishments.

Lori will also be deeply missed by her brothers, Alan Thomas Burris (Norma) and David Wayne Burris (Tonya). They shared a lifelong connection that extended far beyond blood ties. Their brotherly love provided solace during times of joy as well as sorrow.

Her maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, father, Thomas Alan Burris, and father-in-law, David Hugh Orr were important figures in Lori's life whose influence shall never be forgotten.

Lori took immense joy in being a grandmother to Brylee Swisher and Korbyn Swisher. She cherished every moment spent with them, passing down wisdom, creating beautiful memories, and shaping their lives with love.

To Lucky, her loyal four-legged companion who brought countless moments of joy and comfort to Lori's life, he was more than just a pet; he was family.

In addition to her immediate family members, Lori leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who meant the world to her. Her extended family provided unwavering support and shared in her joys and sorrows.

Lori Michele Orr will forever be remembered for her vivacious spirit, her unyielding love, and her unwavering dedication to her family. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid her farewell, let us celebrate a life well-lived and hold dear the memories she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Lori, your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Lytle Church of Christ, 15340 Main St., Lytle, Texas.  Services will conclude at church.
