Lupe Rodriguez

Lupe Rodriguez entered rest on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in Pearsall at the age of 72. He was born in Pearsall on August 28, 1949, to Gonzalo (Chalo) Rodriguez and Rosa (Mireles) Rodriguez. He is preceded in death by his devoted loving wife of 48 years, Virginia C. Rodriguez; his parents, Gonzalo & Rosa Rodriguez, and his brother, Alfonso (Poncho) Rodriguez.
As a newlywed to Virginia Cervantes, Lupe Rodriguez was employed as a Farm Laborer for the late Gene Proctor. Later in life, he pursued a new career with Frio County Road & Bridge Department. He was responsible for the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment and upkeep of county roads and retired after more than 20 years of service. Lupe was always passionate and loved the mechanical field when it came to his vehicles and work. As a hobby and side job, he enjoyed welding and also enjoyed carpentry.
Lupe is survived by his daughter, Janie Rodriguez Anis, and husband Gerardo Anis; brothers, Rolando Rodriguez, and wife Linda Rodriguez and Rumaldo Rodriguez; Grandsons, James Anthony Rodriguez and Jonathan Marc Anis; and Great-Granddaughter Emily Jade Rodriguez.
Pallbearers are Rolando Rodriguez, Rumaldo Rodriguez, Gerald Anis, Jon Anis, Nandy Rodriguez and Rodney Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022, in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2022, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 114 E. Frio St., Dilley, Texas 78017 with interment to follow in the Dilley Cemetery.
