Today is a sad day for our family, friends, and many loved ones as our mom celebrates her eternity at our Lord, God's side. While we mourn her passing, we find peace in knowing she is now in His loving embrace.
Manuela Gutierrez, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 25 at the age of 95. Born to Candelario and Jesusa Martinez, Mom (Manuela) was raised with love, music, hard working and strong family values, which she carried with her throughout her life.
She was the proud mother of seven children, six whom survive her. She raised her family with grace and love, and her children; Ramiro Garza, Cecilia Aguilar, Dora and Rudy Martinez, Roy and Anselma Martinez, Irene and Rick Garcia, and Ricky and Yolanda Gutierrez, will forever cherish her memory. She was also a devoted grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought joy to her life. Her legacy will live on through the generations she nurtured.
Manuela is preceded in death by her parents, Candelario and Jesusa Martinez, her beloved son Eddie, and great-grandson Adan. She is also preceded by her brothers and sisters, Santos, Ramon, Juan, Lucia, and Evangelina, who welcomed her with open arms into heaven.
She is survived by her children, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Manuela's love, strength, and devotion to her family were the cornerstones of her life. Her many interests were shopping (shoes, purses, and especially purchases for her family - she could be in the same area for hours and she would find a treasure, if not for herself, for one of the kids or grandkids) She had a keen eye for fashion and decorating. She enjoyed cooking (hands and measurements of love made her food so delicious), gardening (there was magic in her hands that sprung plants to beautiful blooms) music (Lots of singing and dancing! Oh, what fun!) Bingo (did they just call B1; I'm a winner) sports, especially the Dallas Cowboy games (boy, oh, boy; her lovely voice would carry and could be heard outside the house yelling for the team whether they fumbled the ball [shouting those dummies, atascados, tontos, that's ok the games not over yet] or made a touchdown, (a truly devoted fan). She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her in celebrating her beautiful life. You are loved forever. May she rest in eternal peace.
