Melton is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Anita Conrad.

Melton is survived by his wife, Mary Angela Conrad; son, Heath Alan Conrad; daughter, Heather Renee Conrad Rodriguez; sister, Jenell Acord; three grandchildren, Jonah Shadow Moon Rodriguez, Jackson Walker Conrad, Wesley Garret Conrad.
