Odelia Rose Vaughn

On Friday, February 11, 2022, Odelia Rose Vaughn was reunited in Heaven with her late Husband John Vaughn Sr. She was also reunited with her loving parents Santos & Ramona Cavazos, in laws Joel & Bessie Vaughn, several Brother & Sister in laws, Nieces, Cousins & a Nephew.
Odelia was born in San Antonio, Tx on November 6, 1946. She attended BSA where she was a gifted artist & poet. Before graduating in 1965, she was a Student Council President & Prom Queen. Her first job was with Southwestern Bell & she met her future Husband while attending a dance at Fort Sam. She married at St Leo's Church on June 20, 1967 & gave birth to a Daughter in 1968 & a Son in 1970.
Odelia worked Civil Service at Kelly AFB from 1982 until 1999. She then worked for Standard Aero until her retirement in 2015. She loved her Family, God, animals, sweets, fresh popcorn, reading, cooking, traveling & spending time with her Grandchildren.
Odelia is survived by her Daughter, Tammy Alva (Rafael), Son John Vaughn Jr., Grandchildren Steven Sanchez, Marc Sanchez, Jason Newman, Tera Brook (Allen), Kelli Plummer (Val), Great Grandchildren Anna Kate & Zane Brook. She's also survived by Brothers, Victor Verastigui (Mary Helen), Santos Cavazos (Sandra), Sister, Bertha Cubriel (Reggie) & numerous Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.
All Services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Lytle, Tx: Visitation, Monday, March 14, 2022 from 5pm to 9pm, Rosary, Monday, March 14, 2022 at 7pm, Funeral on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Noon with burial at Fort Sam Cemetery at 2:30pm.
