Ofelia Salinas Perez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, peacefully passed away at the age of 88 on January 21, 2024, in Pearsall, Texas. She was a kind-hearted woman, known for her unwavering devotion to her family and her strong faith in God. Her absence will be deeply mourned by all who knew and loved her.
Born on October 26, 1935, in Pearsall, Texas, growing up in a modest household, she valued the importance of hard work and family. Ofelia dedicated her years to caring for her family, and her occupation as a housekeeper showcased her exceptional work ethic. She found joy in serving others, ensuring that their homes were clean and welcoming. Despite the demanding nature of her job, Ofelia remained steadfast and took immense pride in her work.
Outside of her professional life, Ofelia found solace in her family and the close-knit community of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Her faith played a significant role in her life, providing her with strength, comfort, and guidance. She valued her time spent at church involved in several Church organizations, forming lasting friendships and sharing in the love and grace of God.
Ofelia possessed a genuine love for her daughters, Irma, Brenda, and Lenora who were her constant companions and unwavering source of support. They shared a special bond, always finding joy in simple pleasures such as going shopping for shoes and self-pampering together. Ofelia's immense love and care for her daughters were evident in everything she did.
When she wasn't spending time with her family, Ofelia enjoyed cooking and was particularly skilled at making tortillas. Her culinary talents brought people together, and her delicious meals were the centerpiece of countless family gatherings. She delighted in the smiles and satisfied bellies of her loved ones.
As her journey on Earth comes to an end, we remember Ofelia as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished grandmother. Her compassion, resilience, and unwavering faith will forever be etched in our hearts. She leaves behind a legacy of love, unity, and dedication to family.
Ofelia is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Manuela Salinas; husband Juan Perez; daughter Lenora Perez Hernandez; grandson Peter Andrew Reyes; siblings Lucas Salinas, Rudy Salinas, Alfredo Salinas, Rojelio Salinas, Alicia S. Guajardo, Teresa S. Maldonado. She leaves behind her loving family, daughters Irma S. Reyes (Andy), and Brenda Ann De Leon (Lionel); grandchildren Randy Reyes, Dana Torres, Bryana Carrillo, Ariel Benavides, Ruben Hernandez III, Tavie Gamble, Lionel De Leon Jr., Lauryn Eve De Leon, Brynden De Leon; great-grandchildren Aundrea Reyes, Destinee Reyes, Peter Andrew Reyes Jr., Joseph Reyes, Mia Cruz, Tristan Reyes, Priseis Reyes, Alicia Benavides, Javan Torres, and Ahvi Torres; great-great-grandchildren Kylie Reyes, Andrew Reyes, Amyllyn Reyes, Cayson Cruz, Arelie Medellin; siblings Gilbert Salinas, Lydia Martinez, Ester Salinas; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will start at 8:00 am at the Primrose Funeral Service Chapel, Pearsall, Texas. followed by Rosary and a Mass to celebrate Ofelia's life will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall, Texas, on January 25, 2024, at 9:00 am. Family and friends are invited to gather together to honor and remember this remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many.
