Oscar Samuel Mullins departed this life on Sunday, October 6, 2019.
Oscar was born on September 3, 1933 in Devine, Texas to the late Elmo B. Mullins and Dora Emily Hardcastle Mullins.
Oscar is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Margaret Brannon Mullins; his brother, Burl Mullins; and his sisters, Edna Sansom and Dora Rawlings.
After growing up on the family farm and graduating from Devine High school, Oscar served in the United States Army form January 1, 1954 to December 29, 1955 and received an honorable discharge for his service. After his service in the US Army, Oscar spent over 4 decades in retail sales in various industries.
Oscar met Mary while being employed at the same company in the fall of 1962. They were married for 51 years, 4 months. To this union no children were born, but they were blessed to adopt two sons.
Oscar is survived by his sons, Bryn Eric Mullins and Sean David Mullins (Robin); brother, Kennith Mullins; sister, Bertha Fuller; four grandchildren, Bryan and Mike Slayden, Regan and Sara Mullins; six great-grandchildren, Ty, Ryann, Connor, Gabriella, Alicia and Madison; a host of many loving relatives and friends.
Oscar was a very straight forward and “no nonsense” person.
The family of the late Oscar Mullins wishes to thank each of you for your thoughtfulness during the illness and demise of our love one. Your prayers, cards, visits, food, flowers and your attendance will always be remembered in our hearts. God bless each of you.
Graveside service was held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:00am at the Evergreen cemetery in Devine, Texas.
