Phyllis Nolan Caudle

July 6, 1938 — July 14, 2024

Phyllis Nolan Caudle, a resident of Pearsall, Texas, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 14th, 2024. She had recently celebrated her 86th birthday at home surrounded by her family and enjoying the well wishes of friends.

 Phyllis was born in Junction, Texas on July 7th, 1938. The second child of an extended family of nine children. She graduated from Junction High School, married, became a mother of two children, attended Kerrville Business College, moved to Cotulla, Texas with her family where she had her third child, and lived there happily for over 50 years.

During those years she was the Secretary for the City of Cotulla, the federal programs at the LaSalle County School Board, secretary/bookkeeper for Hendrickson Feedlots and Trucking, and for 35 years salesman for Loomis (oilfield pipe testers). After retiring from the oilfield, Phyllis went to work at the federal prison in Dilley, Texas, where she worked until age 76 when she retired to finally take time for herself.

 Phyllis enjoyed cooking for her family, she was a wonderful seamstress, loved watching movies, dancing, reading murder mysteries, raising goats, and oil painting. One of her favorite things was going for long drives out in the country. She was a long-time member of the Cotulla First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

 Phyllis is preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers Don, Allen, Melvin, and daughter April.

 She is survived by her siblings Roy, Frances, Polly, Tommy, and Ollie. Children DJ and Cheryl; grandchildren are Tamyra, Brandon, Chris, Wyatt and Mason. Along with two great-grandsons Quinn and Luca.

 A sincere thank you to family, friends, neighbors, and those caregivers who have helped see to the comforts and pleasures of our dear mother.

A memorial date will be published at a later time.

The cards, stories, calls, and prayers have been a comfort in our wish to honor the life of our beloved mother, thank you.
