Raul Hernandez

 Raul Hugo Hernández, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 8, 2024, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 43. He was born on July 29, 1980, in San Antonio, Texas, to his father, Raul Vela Hernández, and mother, Nikté Ibarra Lopez de la Fuente.

 Raul was known for his kind and affectionate nature, his tender heart, and his strength. He was a friend to all who knew him, providing a safe and comforting space for his friends and family to appreciate. His passion for sports, his nieces and nephews, and traveling brought joy to those around him. Throughout his life, Raul dedicated 22 years of service to H-E-B, where he worked diligently and made lasting impressions on his colleagues and customers. 

Raul will be deeply missed by his mother, Nikté Ibarra Lopez de la Fuente; paternal grandfather Julián Hernández; his siblings, Deseree Hernández, Enrique Hernández (Linda Hernández), Desdemona Burkett (Justin Burkett), Rueben Hernández (Maggie Hernández), and D’Angelo Ibarra; his nieces and nephews, Anjolie, Christopher, Dante, Blake, Liam, Luke, Alex, Amelie, Norah, and Colt. He was preceded in death by his father, Raul Vela Hernández, paternal grandmother Genoveva Hernández, maternal grandparents America Villarreal Lopez de la Fuente de Ibarra and Mario Ibarra Medrano.

 Visitation will be held at Primrose Funeral Services in Pearsall, Texas on Thursday, May 16th from 5-9 PM, with the rosary beginning at 7 PM. Mass will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Pearsall, Texas on Friday, May 17th from 10-11 AM, with burial to follow at the Pearsall Catholic Cemetery. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
