Rodrigo Rodriguez, Sr, of Pearsall, died on Friday, September 13 in San Antonio at the age of 57. Rodrigo was born on August 31, 1962 in Jourdanton to Manuel Z. and Beatriz T. Rodriguez. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Manuel and Reynaldo Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Yolanda; daughter, Laura; son, Rodrigo, Jr; sisters, Benigna Valenzuela, Maria Vincent, Socorro Rodriguez, Monica Cavazos; and brothers, Israel Rodriguez, Rene Rodriguez, Cosme Rodriguez, George Rodriguez, and Gerald Rodriguez. Rodrigo is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rodrgio was the epitome of a truly good person, he never met a stranger and took on each day with a joyous heart. For many years he worked at Brooks Motor Company and once retired he did what he truly loved fulltime, hunt. Rodrigo was an avid hunter, Dallas Cowboys fan, and jokester. His compassion for people was evidenced the moment he greeted someone as he always asked how their family was doing. Rodrigo possessed a contiguous smile that could brighten even the darkest days. A Rosary was recited for Rodrgio on Wednesday, September 18 at 7 p.m. at Hurley’s Funeral Home in Pearsall; a Mass will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 1 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Pallbearers include Rodrigo Rodriguez, Jr, John Michael Rodriguez, George Rodriguez, Monica Cavazos, Albert Cavazos, Jr, Ernie Valenzuela, Israel Rodriguez and Jaden Rodriguez.
