She is preceded in death by her parents; Jesus Perez, and Carolina Galan, brothers; Ramon Perez, and Ricardo Perez, as well as her husband of 49 years, Francisco Cortez.
Romelia is survived by her sister; Irma Guizar, daughters; Jackie Lopez (Steve Lopez, DDS), Marina Alcala (Greg Alcala), son; Eric Cortez, grandchildren; Cristina Lopez, Monica Lopez, Steven Lopez, Jr., Kari Ann Alcala, Christian Cortez, Noah Cortez, Sophia Cortez, and great grandchild Nicolas Alcala.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (422 W. Brazos, Pearsall, Texas, 78061) at 9:30a.m. with a Rosary recited at 10:00a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. A private interment will follow at Pearsall Veteran's Cemetery.
