Ruby Nell Kurz Pyron

Ruby Nell Kurz Pyron went to her Heavenly home on June 13, 2023, in Castroville, Texas. Ruby Nell, formerly of Somerset, Texas, was 102 years old. Ruby was born on March 17, 1921, to Galloway and Alma Kurz in Somerset. She graduated from Somerset High School, and at the age of 18 she married the love of her life, George Edward Pyron, also from Somerset. They had two children, George Jr., and Lynnell. George and Ruby were in the retail, grocery, hardware, and variety business all of their married life. They remained in Somerset most of their married life until the late sixties when they moved to Lytle. Ruby Nell and George had various business enterprises throughout their 60 years of marriage. They attended First Baptist Church of Somerset until their move to Lytle where they were members of Trinity Baptist Church. They were both very active in the affairs of the church.

Ruby Nell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George; three brothers, Carl, Roy, and Roger Kurz; one sister, Pearl Talley; her son George Jr.; and her grandson Zachary Pilgrim. She is survived by her daughter, Lynnell Pilgrim; a sister, Lillian Cooper; three grandsons, T.C. Pilgrim, Kyle (Christine) Pyron, Coby (Stacy) Pyron; three great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Paulette Pyron; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church in Lytle, TX with interment to follow in Bexar Cemetery in Somerset, Texas.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Jesse Casares and all the staff of LeParc Senior Living in Castroville for the loving care they showed Ruby Nell. They would also like to thank the Hospice Team who helped with her care the last few months of her life.
