Santos Gonzales Ortiz

Santos Gonzales Ortiz, a cherished son, father, brother, and beloved grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in Pearsall, Texas, on March 29, 2025. Born on April 11, 1941, in Seguin, Texas, Santos lived a life rich with love, hard work, and dedication to his family and community.

A self-employed machine operator, Santos honed his skills as a welder and backhoe operator throughout his career with his business "Frio Lease Services", exemplifying the values of resilience and determination. He took great pride in his work, providing for his family while nurturing his passion for the outdoors. Known for his love of fishing and spending time with his family at home. Santos found joy in life's simple pleasures.

Santos will be deeply missed by his children, Orlando Ortiz (Elsa), Norma Ortiz, Melissa Ortiz Jasso (Ricardo); grandchildren Ashley Nicole Escobar, Sean Matthew Ortiz, Zachary Taylor Ortiz, Alyssa Makayla Jasso, JoAnthony Roel Jasso, Savannah Riann Jasso; siblings Anita Morales, Amelia Viesca, Pat Ortiz, Ray Ortiz, Ruben Ortiz, Flora Ortiz; who carry forth his spirit and values. His legacy will also resonate through the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him, especially his cherished grandchildren, whom he affectionately called "Pop."

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Celia Ortiz; beloved wife Enuelia Martinez Ortiz; siblings Margarito Ortiz, Amalia Cuevas, Joe Ortiz, Cecilia Reyna.

Family and friends are invited to honor Santos's life with a visitation held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Primrose Funeral Services of Pearsall, Texas. Mass will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Pearsall, Texas with interment to follow in Pearsall Cemetery, providing an opportunity for loved ones to come together and share their memories.

In celebrating Santos's life, let us remember his kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering love for his family. Though he will be missed dearly, his spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
