Sidney Gail Delaney age 57 of Devine, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on January 28, 1966 at Detar Hospital to parents Ernest Eldridge and Mary Dolores White Warnock in Victoria, Texas.
For the first year of her life, she lived with her family in Bloomington, Texas. In 1967 she moved to Seguin, Texas as her father became an Area Supervisor for Sun Oil Company near Darst Field. Sidney started her school years by attending kindergarten at the First Baptist Church in Seguin. She then attended Weinert Elementary school, Saegert Middle School, and Seguin High School. She was in the class of 1984. She went on to study Health Administration at Southwest Texas State University where she earned her Bachelors of Science. Soon after, she relocated to Anchorage, Alaska where her career as a Health Administrator included employment with Southcentral Foundation, Deloitte and Touche, and Alaska Family Services. Sidney was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2001 and her health issues became severe enough for her to need an early retirement. In 2017, Sidney and her daughter relocated to Devine, Texas.
Sidney is preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger Paul Warnock, and many close friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Kevin Michael Delaney, son Cole Dakota Knight, daughter Kyleigh Brianne Delaney, stepson Sean Michael Delaney, stepdaughter Colleen Marie Delaney, granddaughters Mia Josephine Knight, Kaetlyn Ibi Jaradat, Selah Rafael Delaney, grandsons Landon Gabriel and Liam Michael Delaney.
Visitation will be held at Primrose Funeral Services chapel in Devine, Texas on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. After services, we will be meeting in Natalia, Texas at the First Baptist Church for a meal. As all who knew Sid would automatically understand, her request would be for an over the top ‘celebration’ of life!!! Consider brightening up the funeral home with your attire as she was such a colorful person! Traditional attire is of course welcome. Sidney never wanted a sad funeral; she wanted us to laugh in her memory and share stories about her life.
