Valdemar Guzman Martinez Sr. age 72 of Lytle, Texas and a Vietnam War Veteran, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, March 12, 2020. He was born on September 23, 1947 to parents Tomas Martinez Sr. and Santos Guzman.
Valdemar is preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Santos Martinez; brothers, Octavio Martinez, Tomas Martinez Jr.; sister, Dora Gloria Martinez.
He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe (Morales) Martinez; Son, Valdemar Martinez Jr. and wife Rebecca; daughters, Yvette Martinez, Veronica Villanueva and husband Florencio; brother, Reynaldo Martinez; sister, Gloria Bustamante; grandchildren, Valdemar Martinez III, Elizabeth and Victoria Martinez, Celeste Martinez, Julian Martinez, Bianca and Ernesto Villanueva and one great grandchild, Julian Martinez Jr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 2:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Hurley Funeral Home Chapel Devine, Texas. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 17, 2020 11:00 A.M. St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Devine, Texas with internment to follow in Concepcion (Coal Mine) Cemetery Lytle, Texas.
