Virgil Louis Sobeczek 79, of Lytle, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
Virgil was born on October 17, 1943 to Bolish and Rosie Sobeczek in Poth, Texas. After Virgil graduated from Southwest High School in 1962, he went on to become an owner of a car dealership and then studied and became a Real Estate Broker. Before getting married, he was a policeman for Balcones Heights and left after three years of service. He served as president of the local Hochheim Prairie Insurance for several years.
On January 16, 1971, Virgil married the love of his life, Loretta Ann at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Devine, Texas and went on to have fifty-two years of wonderful marriage.
Virgil retired and spent his time gardening, feeding his animals, and fishing. For many years he was Santa Claus for the community of Lytle. He also enjoyed cooking for his family every Sunday and holidays. He was family oriented, great sense of humor, caring of others, loved animals, enjoyed watching football, regularly attended church, humble and always welcoming with a giving heart.
He is preceded in death by parents, and brother, Melvin Sobeczek and his sister, Margaret Sobeczek English.
Virgil is survived by his loving wife, Ann Daggs Sobeczek; sister, Joyce and husband, Jimmy Echtle; niece, Audrey Campa and husband, Tommie; nephew, Daryl English and Leona and son, Walker; niece, Terrie Rodriguez and husband, Jesse and son's, Gavin and Barrett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Jill Daggs and granddaughter, Chessa; Jill's daughter, Brianna Hartwig and husband, Jon; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., with Rosary being recited at 6:00 P.M. Primrose Funeral Services, Lytle, Texas.
Mass will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, 10:00 A.M. St. Andrew Catholic Church Lytle, Texas with interment to follow at Lytle Community Cemetery.
